PRINTMAKING RETREATS
A BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL COUNTRY SETTING, GREAT FOR CREATIVE EXPRESSION
In 2019 pending development approval, we will be launching short-stay creative and printmaking retreats with self catered accommodation at Waymount Farm where a purpose built artists studio is currently being fitted out. The creative retreats will offer a setting where guests can enjoy a combination of luxury accommodation and relaxation with creative expression in a beautiful country environment.
Printmaking Retreats
Since 2002, Kim and Kelvin Taylor have been lovingly crafting Waymount Farm to become a retreat centre offering luxury accommodation with creative and wellbeing retreats. It is planned printmaking and creative retreats will be held in late 2019 offering guests an introduction to printmaking set in a wonderful surrounding.
The printmaking retreats will provide an introductory level of printmaking for beginners. Experienced printmakers are welcome to work independently and will enjoy the beautiful and peaceful country setting of a source of creative inspiration. The creative retreats will cater for a maximum of 6 participants.

Retreat formats
Retreats will be hosted by Kelvin Taylor who has been studying printmaking at Hazelhurst Community Gallery and Art Centre for 8 years and has showed work at exhibitions in Sydney and on the NSW south coast since 2014. It is planned that printmaking and creative retreats be held from November 2017. The retreats run for 2 days and include 2 nights twin share accommodation at Waymount Farm. A maximum of 8 participants are accepted for each retreat.
Printmaking mediums that will be explored include photopolymer (solar) plates, reduction linocut, monoprints and drypoint techniques. Solar plates in particular offer a great artistic opportunity with its low toxicity and quick and simple plate production. Plates are exposed in the sun and washed out in water and ready to print within 30 minutes. Guests will learn how to make a plate and create a unique artwork of their own making.
